Camera.

Tiny little digital camera (smaller than my palm). Gave it to Andrew.

I bought this a couple of years ago at Giant Tiger for $5.00 and promptly forgot about it. I ran across it when I was packing, snapped a couple of photos on it and tried to load them onto my Mac. My computer wouldn't recognize* the camera or the software. I gave it to Andrew to see if he could figure it out.

*I'm sure there's an easy enough fix for this, but quite frankly I'm happy to have gotten rid of something so if there is please don't tell me.

Film darkroom supplies.

Film processing tank and reals, tongs, static cloth, grain finder, lunchbox. Given away via Freecycle.

I left journalism school in 1999. I have moved this lunchbox ten times, thinking that someday, someday, I would have a film darkroom of my very own. It's still a dream of mine, but I refuse to move these items an eleventh time. I figure that by the time I can afford a house that has a darkroom, I can afford to replace these. This was a very difficult thing to let go.

Miscellaneous stuff.

White glue, Silly Putty, bubbles. Given to Kari*.

Kari was hanging out with me while I was cleaning my room. She mentioned she didn't have any white glue (out of all the adhesives she did have), so since I had multiple bottles I gave her one. I also found this Silly Putty and the bubbles, and since she spends a lot more time derelict than I do these days, I thought she would enjoy them. She was thrilled!

*You may think that just giving things back and forth is counter-intuitive to this process, however we can defend ourselves. These are all items that are taking up space in my life and not being used at all, and by giving them to Kari I am both giving myself the space back and giving her something she is actually going to use. The point isn't "have 365 fewer things than when we started", but "get rid of 365 useless (to me) things". So far, so good.

plywood

yep. plywood.

i really wish i was kidding.

the house down the street was renovating, and they had sheets of plywood, about 1'x4', sitting out on the curb. Me being an artist, and it being a flat surface, i nabbed four or five of these babies for 'art'. well, it's six months later, and all they've been doing is hanging out in various locals around my tiny one bedroom apartment.

i have enough surfaces to paint on. i really don't need these. So this morning, they find themselves sitting on the curb, waiting for another artist to whisk them away.
