Books.

Terry and the Pirates, The Back Rub Book (Anne Kent Rush), and Grimm's Grimmest. Sold to @map_maker via my Twitter #YardSale.

Three more books that were going unused by me. Bye bye!

Knitting Book.

Yes, yet another knitting book: Vogue Knitting's Very Easy Knits. Sold in via the ICN at work for $15.00.

Yup, still getting rid of lots of knitting patterns. So freeing!

Book.

Knitting in the Nordic Tradition by Vibeke Lind. Sold to a colleague via the ICN for $5.00.

This was the first knitting book I ever purchased. This was back in the days before knitting was the hot new thing and I was looking to learn the basics. This book taught me absolutely nothing, nor did it have any projects in it. Knowing what I know now I would never have gone to Chapters looking to learn how to knit.

Cookbook.

More No-More-Than-4 Ingredient Recipes: The Kitchen Klutzes' Cookbook by Joy Gallagher Douglas. Gave it to Jaime.

My mom gave me this cookbook when I first left for university oh-so-many years ago. I have copied the recipes that I want to keep and it was time for the book to find a new home.

Knitting magazines and book.

OK, so it's not technically tomorrow yet, but I can't sleep so I figured I'd make my morning routine a little lighter and put this post up 18 minutes early. Sue me.
Knit.1 Spring 2005, Family Circle Easy Knitting and Crochet Holiday 2004 & Fall 2005, Get Creative July 2005, Vogue Knitting International Summer 2005 & Spring/Summer 2006, Interweave Knits Fall 2005 & Spring 2006, Better Homes & Gardens Hip Knits. Sold via the ICN at work.

I realized just how much space these books and magazines were taking up. I made a PDF of the patterns I wanted to keep, then sold off the bulky books.

Book.

The Encyclopedia of Crafts For the Weekend Crafter. Sold via the ICN for $2.00.

Like I've already said, I have to many craft books and there is so much available for free online that I don't need these. I feel like I probably could have gotten more than $2.00 for this though. Shoot.

Book.

Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination (Helen Fielding). I gave it to Leigh.

I don't often reread fiction, but in this case I never even finished reading it. I put it down one day, didn't pick it up for a couple of days, and then realized that I didn't care. Thank goodness Leigh reads more fiction than I do.

Book.

The Sierra Club Summer Book. I gave it to Kari.

I bought this book in the winter with the specific idea of doing activities in this book with Kari. So I figured I would give it to her because she has more spare time than I do to coordinate such activities.

Books.

Women & Fiction: Short Stories By and About Women (Susan Cahill, ed.) and Eva Luna (Isabel Allende). Gave them both to Leigh.

As I am packing my bookshelves I am realizing that books that means so much to me in my early 20s don't have the same impact they once did.

Books.

Sewing 911: Practical and Creative Rescues for Sewing Emergencies (Barbara Deckert), 24-Hour Sewing Projects (Linda Causee), and 101 Crafts Under $10: Easy-to-Make Ideas For Gifts and Home. Sold via the ICN for $2.00 each.

With the wealth of pattern and crafty ideas that are available online, do I really need stuffy pattern and craft books collecting dust on my shelves? Probably not.

Book.

Bend-the-Rules Sewing: The Essential Guide to a Whole New Way to Sew, by Amy Karol. This book was practically new. I sold it via the ICN for $10.00.

I bought this because I am obsessed with craft books, but once I got it home I realized that it didn't actually have any projects in it that I wanted to make.

Book.

Heidi, by Johanna Spyri. I gave this to my friend Leigh's 10-year-old daughter Stephanie.

I loved this book as a child, but in rereading it recently I found it has lost some of its charm.
